This article examines the role of authorial interpretation in the transformation and cognitive dynamics of concepts within literary discourse. Drawing upon theories from cognitive linguistics, narratology, and discourse analysis, the study explores how cultural and historical contexts influence the structure and evolution of concepts such as FREEDOM, HEROISM, OTHERNESS, and ROBOT in the works of George Orwell, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, Margaret Atwood, and Isaac Asimov. The comparative analysis demonstrates how narrative and discoursive strategies reflect the authors’ interpretations of knowledge about the world and contribute to the formation of collective cultural paradigms. Particular attention is given to the selection and application of cognitive tools for shaping concepts, forming interpretative semantics, and their linguistic objectification by the authors of these works. The findings underscore the interdisciplinary significance of literary discourse in understanding the interaction of language, culture, and cognition within the framework of the anthropocentric scientific paradigm. The study offers valuable insights for further research in cognitive literary studies and related disciplines.

This article delves into the topic of how certain words such as "some", "several", “few (a few)”, “little (a little)”, "many", “much” and “all” can be used to express specific quantities. The background of the research deals with the fact that by analyzing the lexical and semantic group of these words, it becomes apparent that some of them can be combined with numerals such as "two", "three" or "four" to express a specific number. However, it is important to note that not all these words can be used this way. The grammatical contexts in which these quantifiers operate, their suitability for both countable and uncountable nouns, and the semantic subtleties they express in various syntactic structures are the main topics of the study. By examining current English usage and corpus data, the essay highlights instances of ambiguity and meaning overlap while identifying patterns of variability and distributional constraints. The interaction of quantity, definiteness, and focus is given particular attention. The results help us better understand the mechanisms behind English quantification and could guide future semantic and syntactic research as well as pedagogical approaches for teaching English as a second language. The differences in compatibility between different words within this group can have significant implications for their interpretation and usage in language. Throughout the study, distributive analysis, transformational analysis, and component analysis methodologies were particularly applied as language analysis tools. The study’s findings indicate that most quantifiers are far less able to be paired with techniques that obfuscate quantitative properties than numbers. The authors conclude that not all quantifiers in the group can be linked with numbers similarly.

Статья посвящена обоснованию связи пародии и идентичности как факторов национального своеобразия русского реализма. Рассматриваемый цикл стал объектом изучения в аспекте полифонической природы пародии. Для этого анализ фольклорных и литературных источников произведений был подчинен систематизации объектов пародии. Выделение в составе пародии рецепции и ее видов позволило установить связь между объектами и приемами пародирования, разработать классификацию способов пародирования и показать их влияние на стиль Пушкина. Обобщение множественности проявления «Другого» как объекта пародирования способствовало выявлению факторов жанровой трансформации. «Другой» как конфликт «своего» и «чужого» показал связь аксиологии Православия, духовных взглядов писателя и сюжетостроения как причину жанровой трансформации и новаторство писателя. Установление авторской идентичности осуществлено в аспекте сюжетостроения и проведено по линии корреляции фабульной синтагмы и парадигматического сюжета. Представление о культурной идентичности обосновано в контексте карнавальной культуры. Понимание национальной идентичности расширено вниманием к приемам реалистического осмысления конфликта, сюжета, героя. Описание видов и факторов идентичности, как и в целом предложенный в статье алгоритм решения цели, направлено на обоснование нового взгляда, касающегося национального своеобразия русского реализма.

The investigation of loanword phonology has been immensely fruitful. Generally, research on loanword phonology has focused on the interaction of borrowing and lending phonologies, the interaction of phonetic and phonological representations, and the influence of extra-grammatical factors, like orthography and sociocultural prestige, in patterns of loanword adaptation. In addition, evidence from loans has clarified the analysis of the native phonology. This second, more narrow focus is the goal of this paper. We investigate patterns of obstruent voicing in loans to further understand the phonology of Kazakh. Non-coronal obstruents in Kazakh alternate for voicing at morpheme boundaries. Considering only the native and nativized lexica of the language, an analysis of either intervocalic voicing or syllable-final devoicing would seem most plausible. Each rule is able to account for all the data presented below. However, evidence from relatively recent loans supports the need for both rules, an analysis that would otherwise be strongly dispreferred by traditional notions of economy.

Simultaneous interpretation, more than ever, demonstrates its relevance as one of the most important means of communication in the world of globalization, the development of international cooperation, intercultural relations, as well as the usage of digitalization and innovations. Kazakhstan, located at the center of Eurasia, plays a significant role in international cooperation, where simultaneous interpretation is widely used. One of the strategic partners of Kazakhstan, which consistently boosts its investments every year, expands its business representation and implements successful projects is South Korea. The dynamic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Korea fosters the growth of the school of simultaneous interpreters from Korean into Kazakh language pair. This paper reveals the stages of development of simultaneous interpretation in Kazakhstan, and discloses the current state of professional training of simultaneous interpreters at the legislative, institutional and educational levels, with an emphasis on the professional training of simultaneous interpreters from Korean to Kazakh. To achieve this goal, this research analyses significant stages in the development of interpretation since the pre-revolutionary period, and identifies the current state of the school of simultaneous interpreters in Kazakhstan through a literature review, and conducts a comparative analysis of the training system of simultaneous interpreters in Kazakhstan and Korea to identify strengths and weaknesses and proposes strategies for training professionals in the field of translation studies.

Through the analysis of binary-oppositional concepts, it is possible to identify the unique religious worldview, lifestyle, linguistic richness, and spiritual-axiological image of the Kazakh nation. This article examines the concepts of “obal” (sinful act) and “sauap” (virtuous deed) in the Kazakh worldview, focusing on their linguo-pragmatic, linguo-cultural, cognitive, functional applications, as well as their religious dimensions. To determine the global image of these culturally specific concepts, the study employs both general scientific methods, such as collecting, systematizing, describing, and generalizing linguistic contexts, and specialized linguistic approaches, including corpus, conceptual, and semantic analysis. Using evaluation techniques based on the National Corpus of the Kazakh Language and frame analysis, the study identifies the value system inherent in the concepts of “obal” and “sauap”, describes their spiritual-axiological essence, and suggests their characteristics. Additionally, the frequency of usage and stylistic aspects of these words are analyzed based on corpus data. The worldview, culture, mentality, and religion of the Kazakh people, rooted in binary concepts, are explored from linguo-cognitive and linguo-axiological perspectives. The research has practical significance. The methods and approaches used in the article may be useful for linguists, religious scholars, psychologists, and students of language-related fields. This study can also be applied to explore the spiritual and value-based meanings of other concepts, evaluate the suggestive potential of language units, and clarify value-driven features of other spiritual notions.

This article is devoted to the study of the current problem of language localization, the purpose of localization is to make the software more accessible and understandable for local users, given the difference in language and culture. It can be noted that localization is currently a complex technological, textual, communicative process through which these digital texts and programs are processed for use in linguistic contexts. However, the localization process is not only a simple translation of texts. It involves adapting cultural realities, changing game mechanics, and sometimes reworking storylines to fit the preferences and expectations of the target audience. The article in the course of the study examined various types of translation transformations and lexical transformations, compared the texts of the interfaces of the original and localized versions, and also identified various types of translation changes used in the localization of game interfaces; analysis of localization of proper names, game mechanics and character dialogues was carried out. The main feature of game localization can be considered a certain interdisciplinary nature of this type of translation activity: a video game combines both artistic and technical text.

The article analyzes scientific papers related to one of the new areas of linguistics – the field of legislative linguistics. The increase in the number of publications in the Scopus database from 2000 to 2023 confirms the relevance of the proposed topic. The purpose of the study is to analyze trends and trends in the field of legislative linguistics based on a systematic review of 1,695 scientific articles. The research methodology includes the collection and analysis of data using SPSS to determine the dynamics of publication growth, as well as geographical and sectoral distribution. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the systematization of knowledge about legal linguistics, a deep understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of this field of research and an increase in the contribution of the international scientific community. The practical significance is manifested in the possibilities of using it to develop strategies for improving the quality of legal texts. In conclusion, the importance of continuing research in the field of legal linguistics for a deeper understanding of the relationship between language and law in the context of globalization and digitization of legal practice is emphasized.
